Winnipeg police say 12 people were arrested and charged on Aug. 10 and 11 regarding various retail theft incidents.

Of those charged, 11 are facing charges for theft under $5,000, mostly relating to thefts from grocery stores.

A 50-year-old man was also wanted for two outstanding warrants for non-compliance.

The 12th person charged was a 24-year-old woman, who allegedly stole food and cash from a fast-food restaurant, and later provided false identification to police. She was charged with theft and public mischief.

All 12 were between the ages of 15 and 61.
