Man facing charges after hit-and-run that critically injured motorcyclist near Selkirk

Manitoba RCMP says a 24-year-old man from Winnipeg is in hospital after a hit-and-run collision on Highway 44 near Highway 59 Monday.
Mounties say around 12:45 a.m., they responded to a reported hit-and-run involving a motorcycle.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found the motorcyclist suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was taken to a hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
It is believed that the motorcycle was driving along Highway 44, when it was hit from behind by a pickup truck.
Through an investigation, police were able to obtain information which led them to an address on Henderson Highway.
When officers arrived at the address, they found a man asleep at the wheel of the truck believed to be involved in the collision.
The 30-year-old suspect was taken into custody for impaired driving causing bodily harm.
He has since been released, and is expected to appear in court in Selkirk on November 8.
