Man charged in Winnipeg cannabis store theft
Winnipeg police say one man has been charged in connection to a break-in at a cannabis store.
WPS says around 6 a.m. on July 17, officers responded to a break-in along the Henderson Highway near Frasers Grove.
When police arrived at the scene, they saw a pick-up truck with an Ontario licence plate flee from the scene.

While doing so, the truck drove erratically over sidewalks, excessive speeds, and was weaving in and out of traffic. Due to this, WPS says it did not pursue due to pedestrian and traffic safety.
WPS was also able to confirm that the truck had been reported stolen along Ottawa Avenue on July 15, and the licence plate had been stolen from a different vehicle on Barber Street.
Around 10 a.m. on Wednesday, a patrol unit spotted the truck along Bowman Avenue. Police say while waiting for a tow truck, officers found the driver walking nearby, and he was taken into custody.
Through an investigation, police executed a search warrant for a home on Jamison Avenue, where police found and seized another stolen vehicle, cannabis products, and $40 worth of fentanyl.
Since, 33-year-old Nickolas Walter Combot has been charged with nine offences, including, flight from a peace officer, possession of a scheduled substance, and two counts of breaking and entering — the second of which was due to the fact he was also linked to a break-in at a pizzeria earlier that morning.
