Manitoba teen dies after jumping out of moving vehicle on Highway 6: RCMP

By News Staff

Mounties say a 15-year-old boy from Manitoba’s Pinaymootang First Nation died after jumping out of a moving vehicle on the highway last month.

Lundar RCMP say the car was travelling on Highway 6 near Road 168 North in the RM of Grahamdale on June 13 when the teenager reportedly jumped out.

He suffered severe injuries and was treated by officers and civilians on scene, according to police. He was taken to a local hospital, then transferred to a Winnipeg hospital, where he died of his injuries.

RCMP say the teen was in the vehicle with three other boys when he reportedly opened the rear passenger door and jumped.

“It appears the vehicle was travelling at high speeds at the time of the occurrence,” police said in a news release.
