Tuxedo byelection advanced voting starts Saturday

Advanced voting for a Winnipeg byelection officially starts Saturday.

The voting district of Tuxedo is heading to the polls after former Premier Heather Stefanson announced she was leaving politics earlier this year.

Voters are able to cast their ballot at two locations, between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday to Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Voting information

Registered voters in Tuxedo will have received a voter information card in the mail, confirming they are registered to vote and showing where and when they can vote.

Residents who are Canadian citizens, older than 18 years old on election day, and have lived in Manitoba for at least six months will be eligible to vote.

Eligible voters who do not receive a voter card or who receive one with incorrect information can visit the Elections Manitoba website or visit the returning office to update their information by May 30.

Eligible voters who have not registered can still vote if they show their ID and take an oath at the polling location.

A complete list of acceptable forms of ID can also be found on the Elections Manitoba website.
