15-year-old charged after allegedly robbing, assaulting 13-year-old

Winnipeg police say a 15-year-old girl has been charged following a robbery and assault in April.

WPS says on Apr. 17, officers responded to a report that a teen was being kicked and punched while others were standing by recording and encouraging the incident.

Police responded to the scene and found a 13-year-old seriously injured and unconscious.

She was taken to a hospital in unstable condition with head injuries and was later upgraded to stable.

Through an investigation, police learned both teens were previously known to each other and were in the area together before the assault.

A 15-year-old was later identified, and police took her into custody on May 28.

She has since been charged with robbery and aggravated assault.
