1 person in hospital following apartment fire in Winnipeg

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Services says one person is in hospital following a fire at an apartment complex.
WPFS says fire crews responded to a report of a fire at a four-story apartment building around 10:30 p.m. Thursday.
When crews arrived, smoke could be scene from from the building, and they began to fight the fire from inside the building.
The fire was ruled under control at 10:51 p.m.
One person was found inside the building, and paramedics took them to a hospital in critical condition.
WFPS says most of the damage was contained to the unit where the fire started.
Through initial stages into the cause of the fire, it is believed to be accidental, by the improper disposal of smoking materials.
