White-Out party Game 2 road closures

Roads will once again be closed in Downtown Winnipeg on Tuesday to accommodate “continued whiteout conditions”.

The City of Winnipeg says southbound Donald Street between Portage Avenue and St. Mary Avenue will be closed from 9 a.m. Tuesday until roughly 3 a.m. on Wednesday.

Additionally Graham Avenue between Hargrave Street and Smith Street will be closed in both directions from 9 a.m. until around 1 a.m.

The road closures will also affect sidewalks, which will be closed from noon, and will reopen on Wednesday, as well as transit which will be rerouted off of Graham Avenue between Kennedy Street and Smith Street.

The City says buses will be unable to stop for passengers during the detour at the normal stop locations, however, temporary stops will be put in place at four points of the detour route. Those four stops are as follows:

  • Graham Avenue and Vaughn Street
  • Graham Avenue and Fort Street
  • Donald Street and Ellice Avenue
  • Donald Street and York Avenue

The Winnipeg Transit Plus loading zone on southbound Donald Street at Graham Avenue will also be temporarily relocated to eastbound Portage Avenue next to the Radisson Hotel.

The Millennium Library Winnipeg Transit Plus loading zone will be temporarily relocated to eastbound front driveway of the Winnipeg Police Service headquarters, and the City Place Winnipeg Transit Plus loading zone will be relocated to northbound Hargrave Street on the north side of St. Mary Avenue.

The Millennium Library will also be closing at 6 p.m., instead of its regular time, and its parkade entrance and exit onto Donald Street will be closed.
