Downtown Winnipeg will once again be a sea of white certain evenings this spring, as the Jets Whiteout Street party is returning to town.

Six days after the Winnipeg Jets clinched a spot in this year’s NHL playoffs, True North Sports + Entertainment announced the return of the much-loved fan event.

About 5,000 Jets fans wearing white will gather outside Canada Life Centre, on Donald Street, to cheer on their team during home playoff games.

Tickets will be $10, with half of the proceeds going to United Way Winnipeg. Tickets for the first round of street parties will go on sale April 17.

Three screens will broadcast the Jets games to fans. There will also be hosts, DJs, and giveaways.

The street parties are a partnership between the Manitoba government, City of Winnipeg and Economic Development Winnipeg (EDW). The province is providing $75,000 per playoff round to support the parties, while EDW is pledging $50,000 from the Special Event Tourism Fund.

The Winnipeg Whiteout Street parties were first introduced in 2018.
