Manitoba RCMP have charged two people after they say guns were seized from a vehicle last week.

Around 7:10 p.m., Mounties from Selkirk responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Highway 204, just east of Ferry Road, in the RM of St. Clements.

The report indicated a vehicle was on the side of the road with a man and a woman inside.

Officers went to the reported location and found the vehicle, and they say it was unregistered.

Mounties then conducted a search of the vehicle, where they allegedly found and seized a handgun, ammunition, weapons, cash, leg shackles, 13 grams of cocaine, prescription medication, and other drug paraphernalia.

Kyle Clarke, 33, and Lisa Haywood, 45, both from Winnipeg, have been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a property obtained by a crime, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
