Winnipeg police seek person of interest in Maryland Street homicide investigation

By News Staff

Winnipeg police say they are looking for a person of interest in a homicide investigation after the death of a man from St. Theresa Point First Nation last month.

Winnipeg Police Service is seeking the public’s help in identifying a person regarding the death of Kevin Delaney Flett, 26.

Police released two separate images of a person of interest. He is wearing different clothes in each image, but authorities believe it is the same person.

He can be seen wearing a winter jacket, grey beanie hat and dark-coloured sunglasses in images provided by police.

On Feb. 25 around 11:20 p.m., the WPS received a report of an injured man in the area of Maryland Street and Wellington Avenue.

Officers provided emergency medical care. The man was taken to hospital in critical condition, where he was pronounced dead.

Anyone with information about the person of interest is asked to call 204-986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS.
