Woman charged with assault after throwing coffee at employee: Winnipeg police

By The Canadian Press

A 34-year-old woman faces charges after an employee of a downtown Winnipeg store was assaulted and had hot coffee thrown on her.

Police say the woman got angry when the store employee asked her to leave because she couldn’t pay for her items.

They allege she threw a large cup of coffee at the 47-year-old employee and assaulted her, causing her to fall and hit her head on the ground.

The suspect fled but was turned over to police by passersby who had intervened.

Two men had minor injuries in the process of holding the suspect.
