Winnipeg police lay 42 charges in connection to string of robberies

Winnipeg police say they’ve charged one man in connection to a string of robberies.
On Monday morning, Winnipeg police said they charged a 38-year-old from Winnipeg in connection to a series of commercial break and enters, and thefts around the city dating back to November.
Timeline of events:
- Nov. 5, 2023 — A suspect broke into a business along Gamble Place, and allegedly stolen $8,500 with of property.
- Nov. 19, 2023 — A suspect broke into a pharmacy along Lorimer Boulevard and allegedly stole various medications. Roughly 45 minutes later, they returned and allegedly stole $150.
- Nov. 27, 2023 — A suspect entered an employee entrance of a grocery store along Alpine Avenue and broke into a locked cash office, taking $1,500.
- Dec. 21, 2023 — A suspect broke into a business office along Marion Street, and allegedly stole a company cheque worth $25,000.
- Dec. 25, 2023 — A suspect damaged a glass door at a hotel along Waterfront Drive, and allegedly stole an employee’s handbag.
- Dec. 26, 2023 — A suspect attended a business office along Lombard Avenue, and allegedly stole a company cheque book, bank cards, and a cash box containing $144.50.
- Jan. 2, 2024 — A suspect broke into a business office along Waverley Street and allegedly stole two laptops and make-up totaling approximately $2,200.
- Jan. 24, 2024 — A suspect broke into a business along Century Street and allegedly stole Air Pods and two company credit cards.
- Jan. 28, 2024 — A suspect broke into a law office along Lombard Avenue, but was escorted out by security and nothing was stolen.
- Jan. 30, 3024 — A suspect broke into a business along Willson place, and allegedly stolen power tools worth $600.
In February police issued two warrants for 38-year-old Michael Paul Koroscil. On March 2, he was taken into custody and has since been charged with 42 offences relating to breaking and entering, theft, and failing to comply with a release order.
