Winnipeg woman charged in death of two-month-old

Winnipeg police have charged a woman in connection to the death of a two-month-old baby.
WPS says on Dec. 4, 2023, officers and paramedics responded to a home along Atlantic Avenue after receiving a report of an unresponsive infant.
At the scene, paramedics declared the two-month-old dead.
Winnipeg Police Service’s child abuse unit took over the investigation regarding the death.
After an autopsy, it was determined the baby died from malnutrition.
On Feb. 8, 27-year-old Alyssa Michelle Ross was taken into custody and charged with manslaughter.
