Woman in hospital after ‘running in front of vehicle’: police

Winnipeg police say one person is in hospital following a vehicle-pedestrian collision Friday night.

WPS says around 11:30 p.m. on Jan. 26, officers responded to the collision along Pembina Highway near Clarence and Boston Avenues.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a 23-year-old woman suffering from serious injuries that resulted from the collision.

Officers provided medical care prior to paramedics arriving at the scene. The woman was taken to hospital in critical condition, where she remains in guarded condition.

Police say the driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene at spoke with police.

Officers learned through early stages of an investigation, that the woman who was hit had reportedly run in front of the vehicle, that was driving south on Pembina Highway at the time.
