Man charged for bear spraying someone on transit bus: Winnipeg police

Winnipeg police have charged a 45-year-old in connection to an assault over the weekend.

WPS says around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, officers responded to a report of an assault with bear spray on a transit bus.

Police say by the time officers arrived, the bus had been evacuated due to the bear spray, but noted the suspect was still onboard.

WPS say they were able to take the suspect into custody.

The individual who was bear-sprayed fled the scene and has not been identified at this time. Police add no other passengers were injured.

Since, the 45-year-old who was taken into custody, has been charged with possession of a weapon, mischief under $5,000, and failing to comply with conditions of probation.
