Woman in hospital after shooting on Furby Street

Winnipeg police say a woman is in hospital after being shot along Furby Street Thursday evening.

WPS responded to Furby Street near Westminster Avenue around 6:50 p.m., after receiving a report of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found a 48-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound, and officers began providing medical assistance.

The woman was taken to hospital by paramedics in unstable condition, and has since been upgraded to stable.

Police believe the suspect fled the area on foot after the shooting.
