Winnipeg man charged with cocaine possession

Winnipeg police say a 33-year-old man has been charged following a drug investigation.

WPS says an investigation being conducted by members of the guns and gangs unit, led to an arrest on Nov. 18.

After the 33-year-old was in custody, WPS seized a vehicle believed to be owned by the man. While searching the vehicle, officers found a loaded handgun, roughly $9,000 worth of cocaine, $8,500 in cash, as well as knives and brass knuckles.

The man has since been charged with possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a weapon, and possession of property obtained by a crime over $5,000.
