Man undergoes emergency surgery after stabbing on Isabel Street: WPS

Winnipeg police say a 40-year-old man needed emergency surgery after a stabbing Friday night.
The Winnipeg Police Service says officers were called to Isabel Street near Bannatyne Avenue around 11:50 p.m. for the report of a stabbing.
Officers say they found the victim suffering from serious injuries and provided emergency medical care.
The man was taken to hospital in unstable condition and underwent emergency surgery. He was later upgraded to stable.
Investigators believe several suspects were involved in the stabbing a few blocks away, where Isabel Street turns into Balmoral Street. Police say the injured man entered a retail businesses for help.
No arrests have been made.
The WPS major crimes unit is investigating.
