Four pets deceased after south Winnipeg house fire

Four pets were found dead inside a home after a fire in the Waverley Heights neighbourhood of south Winnipeg Friday night.
The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service says three dogs and one cat were found dead at the home on Quincy Bay near Powers Street.
Crews say they were called to the home around 9:30 p.m. They arrived to find heavy flames and smoke coming from the house.
“Firefighters attacked the fire from the outside because the fire was so involved it was unsafe to enter,” WFPS said in a news released.
The fire was declared under control around 10:12 p.m.
Paramedics assessed one person at the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
