23-year-old killed in North End shooting: WPS

Winnipeg police say a 23-year-old was shot and killed early Sunday morning in North End.

The Winnipeg Police Service says it received a report of a man who had been shot on Mountain Avenue near Andrews Street around 12:45 a.m.

Police say officers arrived to find the man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to hospital in critical condition, where he died of his injuries.

The WPS majors crimes unit was initially notified, but the homicide unit has since taken over the investigation.
