Legendary Winnipeg Blue Bombers receiver Milt Stegall will be inducted into the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame.

The CFL Hall of Famer is among the three athletes, two builders and one team inducted as part of the 2023 class.

Stegall, a nine-time all-star, played his entire 14-season career with Winnipeg. The 53-year-old still holds the CFL record for receiving touchdowns.

The two other athletes to be inducted this year are long-distance runner Chris Glowach and swimmer Kelly Stefanyshyn.

Glowach won the Manitoba marathon in 1997 and 1998. Stefanyshyn won three medals, including gold in the 100-metre backstroke, in the 1999 Pan American Games.

Cross-country skier Brent Bottomley and former Athletics Canada coach Alex Gardiner were inducted as builders.

Curlers Terry Braunstein (skip), Ray Turnbull (lead), Ron Braunstein (second), Don Duguid (third) and Gord McTavish (alternate) – winners of the 1965 Brier – were inducted as a team.

The Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame’s formal induction ceremony will take place Nov. 2.
