Manitoba Shared Health says a collective agreement has been reached with the labour unions representing 100 per cent of all health workforce sectors.
The agreement between Shared Health, the Manitoba Government Employees Union (MGEU) professional/technical sector, and the Manitoba Association of Health Care Professionals (MAHCP) will see employees enter into a six-year contract retroactive to April 1, 2018.

With the agreement, all 56,000 health sector employees will receive “significant retroactive pay, compounding general wage increases in every year, as well as extensive other monetary gains and non-monetary improvements to support retention, advancement, education, staff wellness and recruitment,” according to Shared Health.
Shared Health notes that all health-care workers include employees in nursing, community support, facility support, physician residents/interns, physician/clinical assistants, and professional, technical, and paramedical sectors.
