Jets select winger Colby Barlow with 18th overall pick in 2023 NHL Draft

The Winnipeg Jets have selected forward Colby Barlow with the 18th overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft.

Barlow was the CHL scholastic player of the year and has displayed exceptional leadership abilities, becoming the youngest captain in Owen Sound history.

The winger can also shoot the puck, scoring 46 goals and recording 79 points in 59 regular season games. Aside from his goal-scoring prowess, he’s been deployed by Owen Sound in all situations, including notching minutes on the penalty kill.

Winnipeg had two first-round picks in the 2022 NHL Draft where they selected Rutger McGroarty 14th overall and Brad Lambert 30th overall. Other players selected by the Jets in the first round include Cole Perfetti (10th overall in 2020), Chaz Lucius (18th overall in 2021) and Ville Heinola (20th overall in 2019).
