Canada and the world get serious about UFOs

By Analysis by The Big Story Podcast

Canada is actively developing a process to enhance the tracking and reporting of Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs), called The Sky Canada Project. In late May, it was revealed that the Five Eyes–an alliance of intelligence agencies including the US and Canada–held a private forum to discuss unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) sightings, including so-called “metallic” orbs observed in different places around the globe.

Daniel Otis, a freelance journalist who’s reported extensively on UFOs, says the Sky Canada Project is approaching the study of UFOs scientifically, in contrast to American efforts that have tended to view them as national security threats. “I don’t think military organizations inherently have open data and public facing science as part of their core mandate…I was very pleased to see that Canada’s first steps into this subject in a long time are being done from that scientific perspective,” says Otis.

What we are witnessing is a serious attempt by some of the world’s biggest military and intelligence agencies to figure out exactly what’s going on in our skies. So why now?
