Dr. Joss Reimer says the 19 pandemic interrupted healthy living activities for Manitobans and it’s time to catch up – she encourages a preventative approach.

“We really encourage people to talk to their doctors to make sure they’re caught up on their vaccines, that they’ve been screened for blood pressure, that they’ve been screened for their cholesterol, you know, that they’ve had their cancer screenings of the different types, whether it’s breast or colon or cervical cancer,” said Dr. Reimer.

Manitobans have a chance to win prizes by taking part in this active living challenge and the Getting healthy campaign until the end of June.

“There’s 30 fantastic prizes and getting healthy, and the grand prize is a two night getaway at the lake house in Clear Lake with other make many great prizes throughout Manitoba for you,” explained Dr. Boroditsky.

Boroditsky says people wanting to make healthy lifestyle changes, can start simply.

“I would say you just start with one thing and ideally one thing another. So if walking is that one thing. You know, you start with a small goal and you keep building on it. I don’t know that there’s a one formula that fits for everybody. I think the only formula that is equal for everyone is just find what’s best for you.”
