Two men facing over 20 charges in connection to drug trafficking: Winnipeg Police

Winnipeg police say two men are facing a combined 26 charges in connection to drug trafficking
WPS say on April 28, officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle near Century Street and Saskatchewan Avenue.
When officers arrived at the scene, they identified two men in the vehicle, one of which was wanted on an outstanding nation-wide warrant.
Following a search of the vehicle and both men, officers seized a modified 12-gauge shotgun, a knife, cocaine, Xanax pills and nearly $7,000.
WPS have charged a 30-year-old with the following charges:
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized;
- Possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle;
- Contravention of storage regulations;
- Three counts of possession of a firearm contrary to order;
- Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking;
- Possession of Xanax for the purpose of trafficking;
- Possession of proceeds of crime.
Police also charged a 23-year-old with the following charges:
- Possession of a firearm knowing its Possession is unauthorized;
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle;
- Store firearm or restricted weapon contrary to regulations;
- Possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking, cocaine;
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000;
- Two counts of possession of a firearm, restricted/prohibited weapon or ammunition contrary to prohibition order;
- Two counts of possession of a weapon;
- Seven counts of failing to comply with conditions of release order;
- Warrant – apprehension and suspension of Parole/Statutory Release.
