Winnipeg police investigating after body was found on Saturday

Winnipeg police are investigating a potential homicide after a body was found near Fort Douglas Park on Saturday.

WPS say around 1:30 p.m., officers responded near the intersection of George Avenue and Waterfront Drive for a report that possible human remains had been found.

Upon arrival, officers confirmed that the remains of a deceased individual had been located.

At this point, investigators have not been able to confirm any details of the deceased; however, they note an autopsy is pending.
