Jets clinch final Western Conference playoff spot with win over Wild

By Sportsnet Staff

The Winnipeg Jets are headed to the Stanley Cup playoffs.

With a 3-1 win over the Minnesota Wild, the Jets clinched the second wild card spot in the Western Conference. Winnipeg needed a single point in order to play spring hockey in 2023.

The eight Western Conference playoff teams are now set with the Jets being the final squad to secure a spot. Only the Nashville Predators were left chasing head coach Rick Bowness’ side after taking a 3-2 shootout win over the Calgary Flames on Monday to keep them in the chase.

Winnipeg will visit the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday to close out their regular season.
