Manitoba RCMP have charged a woman in connection to multiple assaults in the Garden Hill First Nation, roughly 610 km northeast of Winnipeg.
Around 12:40 a.m. on Monday, Mounties from Island Lake responded to a report that three people had been attacked by someone with a box cutter.
Officers reportedly attended a nursing station, where they met with the three victims who were being treated for their wounds.
Investigators believe a woman was asked to leave a party that was being held in the community. After leaving, she allegedly returned with a box cutter and began attacking some of the party goers.
The three victims, a 26-year-old woman, a 24-year-old woman, and a 39-year-old man all suffered life-altering injuries, police say.
The suspect was located and taken into custody, where she was charged with three counts of aggravated assault, two counts of uttering threats, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
She is expected to appear in court in May.
