Winnipeg police are investigating after two alleged stabbings near Main Street and Mayfair Avenue on Saturday evening.
Police say the stabbings occurred 15 minutes apart, and both victims were women in their 20s.
The Winnipeg Police Service says around 7:15 p.m. the first victim was followed off a bus by an unknown woman when she exited at Main Street and Mayfair Avenue.
The victim was then “unexpectedly stabbed,” according to police. She jumped onto a nearby bus and called police.
The WPS says she was not injured as the weapon did not puncture through all of her clothing.
About 15 minutes later, police say a second woman was stabbed and robbed of her belongings on Main Street. She was hospitalized in stable condition.
Police say the suspect fled northbound on Main Street.
The suspect is believed to be the same person in both incidents.
Investigators are working to identify the suspect.
