Alberta parents charged with sexual assault of 6-week-old baby: Lethbridge Police

Lethbridge police say a father and mother have been charged with assault and sexual assault of their six-week-old daughter.
Officers say on Jan. 18, they were called for reports alleging a baby girl is being abused by her parents at a north side home.
When police arrived at the scene, they found the infant injured and in critical medical condition. She was taken to hospital by EMS.
Police add investigation shows the abuse had been happening since she was born.
The two parents, a 52-year-old father and a 31-year-old mother, will not be identified to protect the victim’s identity.
The father has been charged with aggravated assault, sexual assault, and sexual interference.
Both parents have been charged with failing to provide the necessaries of life.
The investigation is still ongoing.
