Cyclist killed after collision with front-end loader

Winnipeg police have confirmed a man is dead following a collision between a front-end loader and a cyclist Thursday night near Mission Street and Plinguet Street.

WPS say just before 10:30 p.m., a pair of off-duty officers came across the collision not long after it happened.

The cyclist had reportedly suffered serious injuries, and the officers began providing medical assistance until paramedics arrived.

Not long after paramedics arrived at the scene, the cyclist was pronounced dead.

WPS say the driver of the front-end loader stayed at the scene. Noting it is believed they were clearing snow when the collision occurred.
