Winnipeg police looking for man in Louis Riel headstone vandalism investigation

Winnipeg police are looking for a man believed to be linked to the vandalism of the Louis Riel monument in October.

Police were notified on Oct. 17 that the Louis Riel headstone, located at the St. Boniface Cathedral Cemetery had been damaged.

Now nearly a month later and on the anniversary of the execution of Louis Riel, police have released a photo of a man believed to be the person involved.

Police say he was at the cemetery around 4 p.m. on Oct. 14, and are asking if anyone knows the suspect or if anyone has any information, they are asked to contact police at 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
