Martial arts instructor charged with sexual assault, exploitation: WPS

Winnipeg police have charged a 23-year-old martial arts instructor in connection to alleged sexual assaults.
Police received a report from an unidentified victim, claiming the instructor touched them in an unwanted and sexual manner and attempted to kiss them prior to classes in incidents between May and July.
Through an investigation, WPS says it learned the accused had “previous grooming incidents” online towards the victim.
On Tuesday, police say the instructor was taken into custody and charged with sexual exploitation and sexual assault.
Police noted the location of the alleged assaults and information regarding the victim, including their gender, will not be disclosed in order to protect the victim’s identity.
