Winnipeg police have charged a man and a woman in connection to an assault on Oct. 15.
WPS say they responded to reports of a man that had been assaulted and left injured along Donald Street at around 8:30 p.m. Saturday.
Two off-duty doctors were reportedly treating the man, who was unconscious at the time officers arrived.
Police say the victim was then taken to hospital in stable condition. They add he remains hospitalized with “life-altering injuries.”
Upon canvassing the area, investigators believe the victim was a nearby store owner that had been recently robbed and was confronting the suspects at the time of the assault.
WPS also found another store owner, a woman in her 50s, who also suffered minor injuries.
On Oct. 18, officers arrested a 51-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman, and charge both with robbery and aggravated assault.
