Fight outside Winnipeg high school involved adults, teens: WPS

Two adults and a 13-year-old have been charged in connection to assaults that took place at Sturgeon Heights Collegiate.

Police say they were called to the school just before 1 p.m. on Monday on reports of several people fighting.

Once they arrived at the school they found a 13-year-old, a 16-year-old, and one adult all suffering from being sprayed with bear spray. Police say the 16-year-old was also suffering from additional upper-body injuries.

Police say they were informed of a fight that took place at the school involving two teens on Friday, Sep. 16 and it is believed those involved in that incident continued the incident on Monday.

WPS say two adults, aged 36 and 38, as well as the 13-year-old were all taken into custody.

The 38-year-old and 13-year-old have both been charged with assault, and the 36-year-old was charged with possession of a restricted weapon and carrying a concealed weapon.

All three have since been released with conditions mandated by the Criminal Code.

Winnipeg police say the investigation is ongoing.
