Winnipeg police charge two teens in North Kildonan stabbings

Winnipeg police are charging two teens following two separate stabbing incidents in North Kildonan on Wednesday.

Police say they responded to the first incident around 11 p.m. and found a 43-year-old man suffering from stab wounds.

They were informed by witnesses that the teens had allegedly approached the man near Arby Park, stabbed him, robbed him, and then fled the area.

Officers say the victim was taken to hospital in stable condition and has since been released.

Not long after, police was informed of another stabbing along the 300 block of Springfield Road. Once on scene, officers located a 32-year-old man suffering from stab wounds.

WPS determined through witnesses that the incident occurred similarly to the earlier stabbing and robbery.

The victim was taken to hospital in critical condition, and Winnipeg police have not reported an update on his condition.

Through an investigation, WPS was able to identify both teens believed to be involved, and both were taken into custody.

WPS have charged a 14-year-old and 16-year-old with aggravated assault, assault causing bodily harm, and two counts of robbery.
