‘Suspicious’ fire destroys family wellness centre on Pine Creek First Nation: RCMP

Mounties are investigating a fire on the Pine Creek First Nation that destroyed the BlueSky family wellness centre.

RCMP say officers were called to the centre in the community about 437 kilometres northwest of Winnipeg early Monday morning.

When officers arrived, the centre was engulfed in flames and the fire department was on scene.

There were no injuries, but Mounties say the fire appears to be suspicious.

Chief Derek Nepinak posted on social media that it was a new family resource centre that was being used for healing initiatives.
