Pair of Winnipeg Transit employees assaulted over the weekend

Winnipeg police are investigating a weekend incident in which a pair of Winnipeg transit employees were assaulted.

WPS say the incident happened around 5 a.m. on Saturday when officers responded to the 600 block of Brandon Avenue.

It is believed that the suspect approached the first victim as they were sitting in their car and smashed the driver-side window.

The 54-year-old sitting in the car was able to flag down a passing bus, at which point a 57-year-old came to their aid.

At some point, the suspect began to assault both individuals before fleeing.

Police say the 57-year-old sustained minor injuries, and neither victim was taken to hospital.
