Winnipeg man charged after machete incident at Kildonan Place mall

A 21-year-old man from Winnipeg has been charged after a machete incident at Kildonan Place mall on Tuesday.
WPS say they were alerted to the suspect by mall security around 7:30 p.m. after security noticed the machete.
Police say it is believed the man was trying to shoplift when he was confronted by security and escorted out of the property. It was at that time security say they noticed the machete.
Not long later police located the suspect and he was taken into custody.
A .22 caliber rifle, ammunition and a machete were all seized by police when they placed the 21-year-old in custody.
