Winnipeg police charge a 16-year-old following weekend fight at the Forks

A 16-year-old has been charged following a fight in the Forks over the weekend.
WPS officers say around 11:30 p.m. on July 30, they were called to reports of a group fighting at the CN Stage and Field, near the Winnipeg Human Rights Museum.
When officers arrived, roughly 10-15 people tried to run away but were all stopped. Officers say in that time, it was believed one of the suspects had a handgun.
When the suspect was apprehended, officers seized a large hunting knife and a backpack with roughly 200 grams of cannabis.
Officers searched the area after everyone was in custody and found another bag which which had what police referred to as a brass knuckle/edged weapon.
A 16-year-old was charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and possession of cannabis as a minor.
