Winnipeg teen charged after three people bear sprayed at the Forks

A 17-year-old from Winnipeg has been charged with assault after two teens and an adult were sprayed with bear spray at the Forks Sunday.

Winnipeg police say on July 24, they responded to reports that individuals had been sprayed by something just before 6 p.m.

It is believed at least three suspects were involved.

Police say officers chased the suspects and that one person was taken into custody. In addition to three counts of assault with a weapon, that person has been charged with possession of a weapon and two counts of failing to comply.

The victims, aged 12, 15, and 18, were all taken to hospital.
