Manitoba RCMP investigating ‘suspicious death’ on Canupawakpa Dakota Nation

RCMP say they are investigating the “suspicious death” of a 36-year-old man from Manitoba’s Canupawakpa Dakota Nation.

Police say they were responding to a complaint of assault at a home on the Manitoba First Nation on Saturday around 9:20 a.m.

Officers say they arrived on the scene to find the victim was dead inside the home.

The death is considered suspicious.

The RCMP’s major crime services is leading the investigation.

The force’s forensic identification services remained on the scene Sunday afternoon.

The Canupawakpa Dakota Nation is about 300 kilometres west of Winnipeg.
