Manitoba RCMP say a 15-year-old girl is facing a second-degree murder charge after allegedly “intentionally” hitting pedestrians with her vehicle.

RCMP say the girl from Sagkeeng First Nation struck two pedestrians on a trail in Powerview-Pine Falls on June 3 around 8:45 p.m.

A 20-year-old man was killed on the scene, while a 27-year-old woman was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries, police said in a release.

Investigators believe the suspect’s act was deliberate.

She was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and assault with a weapon.

She remains in custody. Her next court appearance is Tuesday.

The Powerview RCMP investigation is ongoing.
