Another candidate has officially entered the Winnipeg mayoral race.

Former Member of Parliament for Winnipeg Centre Robert Falcon-Oulette has joined the list of now six candidates vying for the city’s top job. It’s expected there will be a long ballot when Winnipeggers vote in October, considering current mayor Brian Bowman will not be seeking re-election.

Falcon-Oulette previously ran for mayor in 2014 finishing third. He says he wants to see a safer Winnipeg, that is inclusive to all communities.

“I think we can actually make the city a better place. Have a passion for this city, not just in the suburbs, not just downtown but for everyone.”

On Sunday, business consultant Jenny Motkaluk who ran in 2018 and finished second to Bowman with 36 per cent of the popular vote registered as a candidate.
