Woman, 24, dead following car crash in Winnipeg early Sunday; second car fled scene

A 24-year-old woman has died following a two-car collision in Winnipeg early Sunday morning.
Police say the crash happened around 2:20 a.m. at the intersection of Bond Street and Kildare Avenue West.
The 24-year-old woman was the driver of one of the vehicles. Police say she needed to be pulled out of her vehicle by emergency services personnel with Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service.
The woman was taken to hospital in critical condition where she later died of her injuries.
WPS says the driver and multiple occupants of the second vehicle involved in the crash fled the scene.
Police say there were several witnesses and they have been interviewed. Investigators are still looking to speak to any other witnesses who have not yet come forward.
Winnipeg police’s traffic division is investigating.
