Manitoba man charged in child pornography investigation

Manitoba RCMP have arrested and charged a 35-year-old man in connection with a child pornography investigation.

Mounties say their Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) was alerted by the RCMP National Child Exploitation Crime Centre of child pornography surfacing from the southern part of the province.

ICE, along with other departments of the RCMP, executed a search warrant at a home in Morris, where officers found and seized firearms, ammunition, weapons, cash, approximately 60 grams of methamphetamine, and other drugs.

The 35-year-old was at the home at the time and was taken into custody by police. He faces several charges including; Possession of Child Pornography, Making Child Pornography Available, Unauthorized Possession of Prohibited Weapons, Possession of a Restricted Firearm with ammo without a Licence.

RCMP says the investigation is ongoing and the suspect will remain in custody.
