Winnipeg’s Munroe Library reopens after renovations

The Munroe Library on London Street has reopened following renovations.

Changes include a new service desk, a new interior book return with better accessibility, and a larger area for children.

The library now has include a tutorial room where visitors can study or hold small meetings. There’s also a section with education activities for children.

Flooring was replaced throughout the library, and it received a fresh coat of paint.

The budget for the renovations was $220,000.

“It is a pleasure to officially open this newly upgraded library for people to engage, learn, and grow,” said Winnipeg Mayor Brian Bowman in a statement. “Over the last several years, Council has approved significant investments in rebuilding and redeveloping libraries across Winnipeg.

“The newly updated Munroe Library is now in a position to be a valuable community resource for many years to come.”
