Winnipeg teen charged after robbing spree

A 13-year-old has been charged following a robbing spree lasting eight-months.

Winnipeg Police say five times between Aug. 9, 2021, and April 7, 2022, a teen tried to rob a store in the 600 block of Dakota Street.

Each time the teen carried a knife into the store and police say multiple times the teen threatened employees by holding the knife at their throat before making off with cash.

WPS say the most recent incident, the teen threatened to stab the store employee, made off with some cash. A short time later police located the teen and took him into custody.

The teen has since been charged with five counts of robbery and possession of a weapon, as well as multiple counts of assault with a weapon and uttering threats.
